This child of the 70′s has been counting the days till Dark Shadows (2012) hits the theatres. You just know Johnny Depp is going to really take the character of Barnabus Collins places the screenwriters never imagined.
With that said I was very sad to read that Jonathan Frid left this plane of existence today. I was delighted to find that the 87 year old Frid worked on his own website. Do read his essays – definitely his version of blogging.
Hitchcock (2013) is on my long-term looking forward list. Anthony Hopkins will be playing The Master of Suspense. I can still remember the moment Hitchcock’s death was announced on the radio. I was 18 years old, it was late April 1980, aisle three of my father’s grocery store. Hitch was on my people I want to meet most in the whole wide world list. I was a fixture at the Thalia, a local theater that showed classic and art films, throughout my teen years. Hitch’s film’s were among my favorites. Believe me you haven’t seen a Hitchcock film till you’ve seen it on a theater screen. And I saw them all including Dial M for Murder in 3D, and Under Capricorn his only costume drama.
The weatherman says rain for Sunday, so I am going to devote part of the afternoon to a new book on my Kindle: Among the Cloud Dwellers
My bella blogger buddy Michelle at Bleeding Espresso recommended it.
Also on my rainy Sunday to-do list — checking out the Tribeca Film Festival online.
Okay, gotta boogie outta here for now.
See you soon.

Jonathan Frid— Frances, you are so not going to believe that I just got a Dark Shadows DVD last weekend from Best Buy!!! I used to watch Dark Shadows with my mother in the afternoons when I was younger! The series was in reruns a few years ago on a channel, but I can’t recall which one! I bookmarked his site to scope it out in the next few days! Sad, about his passing, though.
