If you asked me what I was expecting before I saw the film the answer would have been another Serial Mom. 

Kathleen Turner stars as Catholic Woman of the Year nominee Eileen Cleary. She has a husband is in AA, a son who left his wife for the local manicurist, and a pregnant lawyer daughter whose marrying the woman of her dreams. Eileen is determined that they all become her version of the perfect family. They beg to differ.

I think many others will enter thinking comedy, but this movie like City Island and life in general, is a dramedy.

After the film, many audience members commented about how good it was to see Kathleen back on the screen.

Kudos Kathleen for a great performance, and lesson or two about acceptance and honesty.
