Afternoon all.
I’m coming at you from a rather large and nice Dunkin’ Donuts on Northern Boulevard.
I’m staying with friends in Queens while Juan has some quality recuperating time in MA with the kids. They are taking excellent care of him for me by the way. And I’m getting quite a bit of TLC myself; about the only thing I do is my own laundry.
I’ve actually been in Manhattan’s most culturally diverse borough for nearly a month now. The area I am staying in is mostly residential, but I’m beginning to find my way around. Two Sundays ago I found a Starbucks just 50 or so blocks away from the apartment, but getting there and back was good exercise.
I spent my morning deep in my latest addiction: exploring TED books on my IPad. You can read
about all about TED and the app here. I am currently reading about The Hole in the Wall Project in India. Just reading a few pages about the project will make you wish you could donate a thousand computers.
My original plan for today was Coney Island, but then the sofa looked so comfy you know what I mean? After I hit post I’m going to walk further down Northern to the Best Buy. You know me – gotta check out every new but of gadgetry. There’s also something called Michaels; I guess crafts store is the best description for it. My daughter Josie is great with crafty.stuff. She can make her apartment look like House Beautiful with just one trip to the dollar store and a hot glue gun.
Okay the Northern Boulevard trek is back in full force.
Ciao my lovelies.
